My Boiler has stopped working
what should I check before calling an Engineer ?
- Check that there has not been a power cut, are the fuses OK ? if not replace with one of the same rating, 3amp for Gas systems 5amp for Oil systems.
- Is the time control calling for heat? check that timers are in an ON period.
- Are the Room thermostat and Hot water Thermostats set correctly ?
- Check the Boiler, are there any Warning lights alight such as Lock-out, Overheat, or Low pressure ?
- Press Lock-out reset on Burner, do not press more than Twice!
- Press Overheat reset on Boiler control panel.
- On Sealed Systems check the system Pressure Gauge, this should be reading around 1 Bar pressure; top up using filling loop if low.
- For Oil Systems Make sure that you have Plenty of Oil, use Dip Stick on tank if in doubt.
- For Gas Systems with Quantum Gas Meters, make sure that your meter is in credit, top up if necessary.
